During a surprise ceremony at Eastern Randolph High School, full of her entire senior class, administrators, family and well-wishers, Ellis received a large $500 check to go towards her college of choice. Ellis was nominated by her teacher and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor, Rhonda Evans, who says Ellis is well-known and respected for her leadership, talents, and service throughout her community.

"I couldn't be more proud!" Evans said. "Tiffany doesn't seek praise for any of her accomplishments, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help her realize the impact she has made on our community and the lives she's touched through her unselfish giving of her time and talents."

Ellis is currently in the top 5% of her class, has served as president of her school's FBLA organization for the past two years, currently serves as vice president of her school's Beta Club, and is involved in the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Technical Honor Society. She has won several FBLA events at regional and state levels and most recently placed first in Future Business Leader Event at FBLA's Triad Regional Competitive Events Conference in December.

All while juggling two jobs, Ellis also enjoys participating in annual church activities and community events, such as Big Sweep, Ramseur Food Pantry Canned Food Drive, and the March of Dimes. Although she is extraordinarily accomplished as a high school student, Ellis struggled to find financial relief while applying for scholarships

"I have spent a lot of time filling out scholarship applications hoping for good news, and then I am surprised with a scholarship that my wonderful FBLA advisor nominated me to receive!" Ellis said. "Becoming CEV's CTE Student of the Month is definitely a dream come true."

Ellis plans to attend North Carolina State University upon graduating high school and intends to pursue a degree in architecture.
